Dulcimer Jam this Saturday
I'm missing everyone. Let's jam! The Murfreesboro, TN, Dulcimer and Old-Time Jam is Saturday, Oct 25, from 2:00 to 3:30. As we currently have a shortage of armless chairs, you might want to bring your own, but there are some at the facility.
A while back, I suggested we all work on the old-time southern fiddle tune "Moonlight." No need to hurry, but maybe listen to it a few times before the Saturday jam?

We generally meet the 4th Saturday of each month. We WILL NOT meet in December.
Saturday, October 25, 2025, 2:00 to 3:30
Saturday, November 22, 2025, 2:00 to 3:30
Saturday, December 2025 We WILL NOT meet in December due to the holidays.
About:
In case you missed it, mom moved into an assisted living community in Murfreesboro a little over a year-and-a-half ago. For me, this jam is all about being close to her.
This all-levels jam runs from 2:00 to 3:30 and is open to the public. It is mainly a mountain dulcimer jam, but all acoustic instruments are welcome. The repertoire is typically old-time tunes and songs, but from time to time, we might play anything. Roughly the first 30 minutes is slower and easier stuff. The next 30 minutes is more intermediate. We save upper level playing for the last 30 minutes.
It’s a good idea to bring your own chair. There’s some armless chairs there, but how many there are is rarely known.
Here's the most important thing. You don't need to know these tunes in order to participate, you just need to show up with an instrument. Non-jammers are also welcome.
