ABC Notation
ABC notation was developed for quickly and easily sending dance tunes and other music across the internet in a time when everyone was on dialup and server space was expensive. While some folks can sightread this stuff, there's some great software, free and commercial, for reading, organizing, and printing your tunes. The best reason to learn about ABC is to take advantage of all the extensive music archives out on the web that is only in the ABC format.

Tap for Beats Per Minute
Have your music playing on your stereo, computer, or just in your head. Go to this website and follow the directions to determine the tempo (BPM) of the music in question. Pretty neat!
